Raindrop microcontroller module
Micro controller availability in hardware supply chains can be fickle. We keep our products pin-compatible and firmware-compatible with several leading micro controller (MCU) families to allow switching of MCUs depending on lead times, pricing and feature requirements.
In order to make it easy to switch to a new MCU, we've created the Raindrop family of modules with standardised pin-outs.

The Raindrop Module nRF52833 is a single-board System on Module (SoM) designed for microcontrollers. It is intended for custom hardware development validation but can also be used directly in products. It fits onto the Raindrop Baseboard.

The module features an nRF52833 microprocessor with a 64 MHz Arm Cortex-M4 with FPU. It has 512 KB of flash memory, 128 KB of SRAM, and an 8 KB cache. The clock speed is 64 MHz from a 32 MHz external crystal. The microprocessor operates on a voltage range of 1.7V to 3.3V.
The module's radio supports various protocols, including Bluetooth Low Energy, Bluetooth mesh, NFC, Thread, Zigbee, 802.15.4, and ANT. It also includes a 128-bit AES CCM, ECB, and AAR secure element. The module offers multiple interfaces, including two UARTs, one SPI, two I2C, one I2S, and four PWMs. It has a 12 Mbps full-speed USB 2.0 interface. The module's dimensions are 20mm x 30mm x 3mm.
